Ocean Freight Options.

As an ocean freight forwarder, Texas International Freight is dedicated to fulfilling your shipping requirements. Whether you need to transport Less Than Container loads (LCL), full containers, cargo secured on flatracks, or break bulk shipments, we are poised to cater to your needs. Although our name is Texas International Freight, our capabilities extend across the entire U.S., ready to facilitate your shipping wherever needed.

Located in Houston, Texas, we have direct access to the Port of Houston, Port of Galveston, Port of Beamont, and Port of Freeport, Texas.

The Port of Houston runs about 25 miles in length, and conveniently ships the overwhelming majority of project and break bulk cargo that comes into and departs from the U.S. The Port of Houston boasts a number of terminals for general cargo. Additionally, Port of Houston has two large terminals for container shipping (Barbours Cut and Bayport).

The Port of Galveston and Freeport are mainly used by Ro/Ro ships that carry vehicles, self-propelled and moveable cargo. Although, they can ship a static cargo as well. In terms of tonnage, or weight, the Port of Houston has more ocean freight pass through it than any other U.S. port.

We are in proximity to the Port of New Orleans, Port of Mobile, Port of Corpus Christi and Port Brownsville.

We ship regularly through ports on the Gulf of Mexico (a.k.a. the “South Coast of the U.S.”) We were formed in Texas in 2011 and we’re proud to be Texans. But we’re also licensed by the FMC to operate nationally and we are proud to show off our services to the entire country. We have customers based in every state of the union and we ship constantly throughout the country, all like it is our own backyard.

How to ship ocean freight via the various means and modes and where ocean freight ships to, from, and through are the elements of ocean freight. But there are other less tangible factors to consider.  Does your freight forwarder have the passion to continuously improve and to always be open to novel solutions?  And does your freight forwarder have the experience and the knowledge to know how to execute the improvements and the new ideas with professionalism? There is always a risk that things can go wrong in ocean freight shipping. But if you are continuously experiencing unexplained setbacks, it may be that your freight forwarder is more interested in billing for ocean freight than in knowing the ‘ins and outs’ of how to ship really well by ocean freight.

We know each port has its own way of doing things. Some are more stringent on air quality standards, others demand certain points of data for their shipments. Some are congested during certain times of the year. Others are plagued by labor issues. Because of our deep knowledge and long experience of shipping by ocean freight, we can help you negotiate the shipping process in the most effective manner possible. We know perfectly well that most freight companies promise they can do this, still too few do it really well on a consistent basis. It might be out of ignorance or it might from apathy that other companies have such a hard time shipping ocean freight. Our knowledge of shipping and our passion to managing heavy shipments professionally, sets us apart. We the dependable freight forwarders because we are professional and we are dedicated.
