An Importer Security Filing, or ISF, is a customs filing required by US Customs and Border Protection for ocean imports into the United States. It is also called 10+2 because the importer supplies ten data elements and the carrier supplies two. The filing must reach customs at least 24 hours before the cargo is loaded onto the vessel at the origin port, giving the agency time to screen the shipment before it sails.
