What Does DAP (Delivered at Place) Mean?

DAP, or Delivered at Place, is the Incoterm where the seller delivers the goods to a named destination, ready for unloading, and bears the cost and risk of getting them there. The buyer handles import clearance, duty, and tax, and unloads the goods on arrival. It sits between DDP, where the seller also pays duty, and terms where the buyer arranges the main carriage.

DAP suits buyers who can manage their own customs clearance but want the seller to control transport to the destination. The split is clean: the seller owns the journey, the buyer owns the import formalities. Texas International Freight runs DAP moves and explains the shipping terms so each side knows its part.
