DPU, or Delivered at Place Unloaded, is the Incoterm where the seller delivers the goods to a named place and unloads them there. It is the only term that requires the seller to unload at the destination. The seller bears cost and risk all the way to delivery and unloading, while the buyer handles import clearance, duty, and tax. It replaced the older DAT term in the current rules.
DPU suits moves where the seller controls transport and can manage unloading at the destination point. It sits beside DAP, which leaves unloading to the buyer. Texas International Freight runs DPU shipments and explains the shipping terms so each side knows its part.
