Trusted B2B logistics for mining, agriculture, construction, oil & gas, and energy
Moving real machinery into Uruguay takes more than a booking number.
You need a forwarder that understands oversized freight, customs, and tight project timelines.
Texas International Freight is a Houston-based freight forwarder that ships heavy equipment and industrial cargo to Montevideo and across Uruguay.
We handle breakbulk, RoRo, flat-rack and FCL, plus air solutions for time-critical parts.
From plant machinery and oilfield skids to harvesters and cranes, our team plans the lane, secures space, packages correctly, and delivers.
Who this page is for

Shipping methods that fit your cargo
FCL containers
Ideal for parts, tooling, and smaller machines once disassembled. We block and brace to steamship line standards, add moisture protection, and load safely for ocean transit.
Breakbulk & out-of-gauge
When it won’t fit in a box, we build the plan around the cargo. Flat-racks, open-tops, mafi trailers, and LO/LO direct to the ship’s hold are on the table for large construction machines, transformers, and rigs.
RoRo for wheeled or tracked units
Tractors, loaders, and trailers roll on and off with minimal lifting. Lower handling risk and faster terminal turns for complete machines.
Air for the must-arrive parts
Time wins bids. We move urgent spares, control systems, and high-value components via scheduled cargo or hand-carry from Houston.
Short case study: mining support cargo from Texas to Montevideo
A U.S. supplier needed to deliver drilling support equipment before a startup window.
We collected multi-vendor freight across Texas, skidded and crated to ISPM-15, added desiccants and shock indicators, then loaded two 40’ HC containers.
Export paperwork was pre-cleared, ocean moved Houston–Montevideo on the required sailing, and arrival operations finished with fast devanning and delivery to the contractor. Zero claims, zero missed dates.
Industries we support in Uruguay
Mining
Excavators, crushers, screens, drilling rigs, and spares. We plan crane lifts, yard moves, and route surveys for oversize pieces.
Agriculture
Tractors, harvesters, planters, sprayers, irrigation pumps, and power units. RoRo where practical, breakbulk or flat-rack when dimensions demand it.
Construction & infrastructure
Cranes, dozers, loaders, graders, compactors, scaffolding, and formwork. We stage equipment near port and ship in waves that match your jobsite schedule.
Energy & oil and gas
Wind components, generators, switchgear, transformers, derrick parts, mud systems, and pipe. Packaging plans and insurance built for high-value assets.
What to prepare before you ship
Accurate scope and routing
Dimensions, weights, stackability, lifting points, center of gravity, and photos. We use this to choose mode, port pair, and sailing windows, then lock space early.
Export documents set
Commercial invoice, packing list, HS codes, and certificate of origin. Product-specific certificates (e.g., MSDS for hazmat, engine details) when applicable. We coordinate with your team and your broker for a smooth entry in Uruguay.
Inland trucking on both sides
Heavy-haul in the U.S. with permits and escorts as needed. In Uruguay, port handling and final delivery to plant, jobsite, or warehouse.
Risk management and insurance
Right packaging, proper stowage, moisture control, and coverage that reflects true replacement value. We quote options with clear deductibles and terms.
Neighboring routes you may also need
Supply chains in the Southern Cone often span borders. If your fleet or project touches nearby markets, we run parallel lanes:
- Shipping to Argentina – common for construction, agriculture, and mining programs.
- Shipping to Chile (Antofagasta) – Pacific-side access to the Atacama mining corridor.
